Wellness cluster iVita is the first one which got European quality mark of cluster management in Lithuania

Wellness cluster iVita was the first one that got the European quality mark of cluster management in Lithuania on 10th October, 2014. The coordination and management activity of cluster was evaluated with the bronze mark. On the basis of PI “Versli Lietuva” data, currently there are more than 40 various clusters in Lithuania.

“We are glad that the practice of this cluster was evaluated and appreciated in the European standards. We are the first ones who got this mark of cluster management quality in Lithuania. It is possible that there will be more similar initiatives in the near future. This shows that we have the potential necessary for clustering. We can develop ourselves successfully and align with the other European clusters.” – says Diana Vertelkienė, the coordinator of the wellness cluster iVita.

The expertise of this cluster was made in 03rd September, 2014 relying on the European secretariat of cluster analysis (ESCA, ) methods. ESCA connects the experts from 27 countries. The secretariat was founded by the German company VDI/VDE Innovation + Technik GmbH. This is the sequel of the successful European cluster initiative which was initiated by the European Commission in 2009. The examination was made by the expert Dr. Gerd Meier zu Köcker.

“This evaluation is just a first step to the golden mark of cluster management quality. We still have to do a lot to pretend to the highest quality mark. The bronze medal that we got is the great motivation to improve ourselves. A lot of good advices were given by the experts who made the verification.” – tells Dr. Vincas Benevičius, the member of the Wellness cluster administration team.

iVita – the Wellness cluster

The wellness cluster iVita was founded in 2011. There are 11 organizations in this cluster now. The main activity of this cluster is the creation of the innovative products and services or the wellness sector.
